It’s getting hotter everyday and summer is finally here! When you start craving ice cream try this yummy healthy alternative, that will satisfy your taste buds and will keep you healthy.
With this recipe I will leave you for the next couple of months. I will be too busy and will not have time for my blog. My sons are out of school for the summer and since we live on an island we will go swimming almost everyday! We will enjoy our summer and I will try to spend as much quality time with my family as possible. Lots of recipes and lots of ideas are cooking however! 2 ripe bananas cut into chunks
1/2 cup almond milk (optional)
1 tablespoon almond butter or hazelnut butter (optional)
For strawberry flavor: add 10 strawberries
For blueberry flavor: add 10 bluberries
For chocolate flavor: add 2 heaped tablespoons of raw cacao, 2 tablespoons agave syrup
For caramel flavor: 8 pitted medjool dates cut into pieces and a teaspoon of cinnamon
Freeze the bananas by putting them overnight in the freezer. In a food processor add the frozen banana chunks, and the ingredients of the flavor you want to make. Add almond milk if necessary to assist the mixing. Process until smooth. Serve and enjoy. You can improvise and make any other flavor you like by adding fruits or spices. I can not wait until the rest of the summer fruit are in season to try experiment with new nice cream flavors!
Tip: You can make some chocolate sauce for topping your nice cream by melting 1/3 cup of coconut oil and mix in it 2 tablespoons of raw cacao and 1/3 cup of agave syrup!
